You can help save a life. Whether you adopt your next pet from a local rescue group or shelter/pound or foster a temporary pet in your home to help save a life who is waiting adoption- there are countless ways you can make a difference for lives in need in your own community.
Advocates 4 Animals has a Seniors to Seniors Feline Adoption Program that embraces the seniors in the community through fostering efforts and adoption. Senior (humans) can adopt senior felines in the program at no adoption fee, so long as they are approved as a proper forever home for the rescue cat in need. This is one way local rescue programs are embracing the community- and one way you can jump in and help with the ongoing lifesaving efforts in your area.
If you are unable to adopt or foster a pet in need, you can offer to volunteer with a local group- that can mean spending time at a physical shelter in your area to play with the pets and provide the socialization that they crave, to help clean the pets areas and feed them or it can mean helping with adoption events, fundraiser's or even with transport runs. Transport runs mean helping to drive a homeless pet to a rescue that has offered to help, to and from veterinary visits and/or to their forever home.
There are countless ways you can help local pets in your area. All you have to do is find a local shelter/pound or rescue group in your area and ask what opportunities are available. Ready to start? What are you waiting for! With the power of the Internet- your offer to help is just a click away!
