Animal Rescue Foundation, Illinois will be out this weekend (Video)

Animal Rescue Foundation, Illinois (ARF-IL) is so determined to make an even bigger impact than they have in previous years. The local Wheaton animal rescue organization is hosting another adoption event this Saturday, January 26th, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Wheaton PetSmart in Danada Square East.

ARF-IL currently has 36 dogs and puppies in their care and 40 cats and kittens. Many of these animals will be available at the PetSmart at 63 Rice Lake Square this weekend. This day will give you an opportunity to stop in and meet and greet the potential animal that you would like to add to your family.

Remember that if you plan on taking an animal or animals home with you that day, you will have wanted to follow the adoption process prior to your arrival. Go to the ARF website to fill out the adoption application enough in advance to give the ARF representatives enough time to approve your adoption. Make certain if you are interested in a specific pet that you notate that request on your application.

Be aware, however, no animal will be saved for any specific person as the way the adoptions work is first come, first serve. So if you really want a specific canine (or feline) make certain to arrive early so that you get the best opportunity. You may also want to verify with the ARF representative that the animal that you are interested in will be at this event; more so the canines as many felines are housed right at PetSmart.

As usual, the Animal Rescue Foundation representatives will be wearing their royal purple gear; whether they are the board members, foster parents, animal handlers, or any other of the ARF volunteer positions, you will know them not only by their gear, but by their winning and loving attitudes.

If you are seeking a volunteer opportunity, ARF is always in need of volunteers, especially fosters. More animals could be rescued if only there were more foster families available to take in a dog or puppy for a random amount of time. This way, if you are not able to adopt, at least you could have a pet to love and care about for a short amount of time.

If you would be interested in fostering an ARF animal, email ARF and type in your subject line, “I want to foster dogs” or “I want to foster cats.” Getting involved in this most rewarding way will not only benefit more animals, but you will never know a more rewarding experience. Remember, all supplies are provided, so all you need to give is love and some time!

So stop in this weekend. You will not be sorry!
