San Diego Dog & Puppy Training
Its the new season premier for many popular tv series as October has rolled around on the calendar already. October 3rd the new season of Dogs 101 begins on Animal Planet.
As a professional dog psychology trainer, understanding the differences in dog breeds, temperament, exercise needs, and mental stimulation is high on the list for those contemplating getting a dog or adding a second dog to their existing pack. Counseling people who had the best intentions when deciding to get a dog but didn’t realize that you can have personality mismatches can be avoided with some research and this show provided excellent information.
Dogs 101 does a great job of educating on dog breed, what they naturally do best, what they aren’t so good with, and how they can fit into your urban lifestyle. Its great information to build on the dog that is already part of your life or to help decide on a dog you are planning on getting.
The October 3rd show features a German Haired Pointer, Tanner, who I have had the pleasure of knowing quite well. Owned by Sue Barnes who is a colleague and professional dog trainer is one of the dogs featured. Go Tanner go!
Dogs 101 airs starting October 3rd in San Diego (PST) at 9 p.m. on the Animal Planet channel.

Hi, love the the DOGS 101. But to make this short and sweet. I own a sha-pai. I love her and would spend my last penny on her, and just might. Your show said they are easy to groom. You did not mention their skin is not like any other dog, there is an oily layer under the skin, because of this they need bathing about once a week. They have skin issues. Rashes and skin infection are a constant challange. Because the ears and ear canels are so tiny they easily get infected with yeast, and are hard to clean. And then there are the eye problems. Get her and eye lift and a year or so later she needs another! Because of all the wrinkles the skin around the eyes can fold in causing cornier problems. My Yoko has all of the problems. looking at her one would not think it, because of the daily care. She is sweet and loving, All the vets that have seen her have commented on her great disposition which is apparently not common in the sha-pia. Potential owners need the full info.
I love animal planet! I can't wait for a new season of dogs 101 to begin! I wonder if they have any training advice for dogs on there. It would be nice to know if a certain breed is trained easier than another.
