Do you love animals? Are you looking for an opportunity to give back this Christmas season?
Prince George’s Animal Shelter, in Upper Marlboro, MD, needs volunteers and supplies. Rather than fighting the crowds holiday shopping, how about stopping by the shelter and take some dogs for a walk or play with the kittens? You can even play rabbits, snakes or guinea pigs if that is more your style.
Volunteer orientation for adults 18+ will be Saturday, December 7 at 10 a.m. There will be a tour of the facility afterwards. Orientation will run about 1 hour and the tour will be about ½ hour. There will be another orientation on December 19 at 6 p.m.
The Prince George’s County Animal Shelter has a bin in the front lobby to collect food and supplies for the animals. Dog beds, blankets, towels, toys, food and, most importantly, your time, are always needed.
Please remember there are families who love their pets but are struggling to care for them. People and pet food donations for these families are being collected as well.
Photos with Santa will be available at the Shelter, located on Brown Station Road, in Upper Marlboro, Saturday, December 7, from 11-2. All proceeds will go to the Prince George’s Animal Shelter facility. Stop on by to let your pet sit on Santa's lap to tell him what is on their Christmas list!
