The Global Conservation Group, a Wisconsin animal rights organization claims the A&E television show "Duck Dynasty" is "Encouraging young people to go out and kill animals for fun." The group also says the show will lead to more gun related deaths in children citing a study conducted by a pro-hunting organization "According to the International Hunter Education Association, approximately 1,000 people in the United States are accidentally shot by hunters every year, and nearly 100 of those accidents are fatalities."
But they're not the only ones who are upset by the show. Signer Steven Patrick Morrissey was so upset that he cancelled his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live after learning Duck Dynasty members would be interviewed. He called the cast "animal serial killers".
The Global Conservation Group plans to launch a vigorous campaign including protests at the A&E network office. According to the organization's Vice President of Campaigns, John Destens "Duck Dynasty is making hunting seem fun when in reality, the killing of innocent animals should seem anything but." The group also cited a United States Federal Bureau of Investigations report that found nearly all human serial killers and school/mass shooters hunted and killed animals for fun.
