The endocrine system is the biochemical control of the body’s cells using hormones. It regulates the other systems in the body. These move throughout the body by way of the circulatory system. It is one of the most complicated systems in the body and scientists are still trying to understand how it works.

This system regulates growth, body development and temperature. It also controls digestion and the reproductive system, metabolized glucose and more. It is made up of glands. They are grouped together working on specific areas.

The bronhiohennye endocrine is made up of the thyroid and okoloschitovidnye glands. The adrenal endocrine consists of the adrenal, paraganglia and the interrenalovye glands. The neutral endocrine contains the pineal and pituitary glands. The ovaries and testes are in the sexual endocrine area. The pancreas is located near the stomach and small intestines.

The function of the thyroid gland regulates metabolism and body heat, milk production and controls the growth of conditioned reflexes. It is located behind the larynx. The okoloschitovidnye glands are near the thyroid and are responsible for the disbursement of plasma from the bone marrow.

The adrenal gland and its sub-glands regulate stress, the metabolism of carbohydrates and helps to form glucose. It also regulates inflammation, the metabolism of minerals and water, kidney absorption and sex hormones.

The pineal gland produces melatonin which regulates the body’s bio-rhythms. The pituitary gland is known as the master gland because it controls the function of other endocrine system glands. One of its many functions is the regulation of growth. It is located in the central bottom of the brain.

The pancreas regulates insulin which controls the blood sugar.

The sex glands control the reproductive system. The ovaries produce estrogen and progesterone which are female hormones regulating the menstrual cycle, female traits and the maintenance of pregnancy. The testes control male traits producing testosterone and control the production of sperm.
