Attention, wine enthusiasts and animal lovers! The Toledo Zoo has the perfect outing that combines both of your interests with their unique series of Vineyard Adventures that will give you an experience that you won't soon forget.
Vineyard Adventures These "Around the World Wine Tasting" events each have a special theme and take place in different locations throughout the Zoo. Guests will enjoy wine tasting, hors d'oeuvres and live musical entertainment. The adventure offers guests the opportunity for a fun evening with friends or a romantic experience for two.
The Saturday, February 9 Vineyard Adventure is entitled "Old Vine Spanish" and it takes place at the Zoo's Arctic Encounter from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Set amidst a backdrop of two waterfalls and seven saltwater streams in the Arctic Encounter, guests will be able to view polar bears, gray seals, harbor seals (which you can view both above and below water) and gray wolves.
Guests will also be able to test their taste buds by participating in the Guess the Grape challenge.
A wide assortment of wines, gourmet foods and gifts supplied by the Toledo Zoo's Corporate Gifts department will be available for purchase.
Saturday, March 9th's Vineyard Adventure is entitled "Chilean Wines" and will take place in the African Lodge where guests will be surrounded by authentic African sculptures, decor and artifacts like masks as they sample the wine and hors d'oeuvres and listen to the melodies of the live entertainment.
Other upcoming Vineyard Adventures include "Animal Names" wines on May 10 at the Africa! Overlook and "Australian Wines" on June 7 at the Wallaby Walkabout.
