When four horses needed to be rescued in Cheatham County, the county animal control center stepped in to save them. Workers even converted a set of dog runs into temporary housing for the new equines.
The horses were taken from two separate cases in October when all four were discovered suffering from neglect.
Two of the horses were severely emaciated and according to a recent interview, they also suffered from a serious fungal infection called rain rot. “They get it when they are sick, and had it on their backs and rumps, and it is now virtually all gone,” said Animal Control Director T.J. Jordi.
The horses are thriving at Cheatham County Animal Control and now ready to find new homes.
