Update 12/31/13: Mother and pup are safe! Pulled by Pup & Cat Co.
On Monday morning, a desperate plea was issued via Facebook for a new mother and her infant puppy who was born inside of the Barrow County Animal Control in Winder, Ga.
The post for help stated:
The white bulldog mix girl had a single puppy over the weekend and we mama and baby need out NOW!! Mama dog is frantic and pacing whenever someone walks into the room. I feel so bad for her. This puppy is going to catch something!!
In a touching photo, the mother dog is gently cradling her newborn puppy within her protective paw.
An animal control facility is no place for a newborn puppy as the risk of contracting a disease is high.
