Animal communicator, Claudia Hehr of Erin, Ontario advises that animal owners who want to learn more about this ability begin by regularly talking to their pets.

“We all have this ability,” she said. “You are telepathic. It’s just that some people don’t access it or they think animals are lesser beings. Animals are not judgmental but if a person thinks that, they will block it. When you start communicating with your animal it’s hard because emotions get in the way. Try it first on animals that your friends have.”

She added that dogs do not understand negatives.

“Say what you want; not what you don’t want. Instead of saying, ‘Don’t jump up,’ say ‘Please keep your feet on the ground.’ If they’re afraid, don’t say, ‘Don’t be afraid.’ Say “Relax. I am here to protect you.’”

Claudia noted that animals could have all kinds of issues and even if we can’t hear what they have to say, they do understand when we talk with them. For example, if you think you might adopt another pet, it would be wise to talk with the one you already have about what he or she wants.

“If you’re going on vacation, tell them beforehand,” she advised. “If an animal is not eating, it could be that their tummy is upset or they are just sad about something.”

Lost Dogs

Although Claudia would love to help pet owners find their animals, she notes on her web site  that can be difficult, even using telepathy from a distance.

“Animals can’t tell us, ‘I am at 42 Soandso Road,’ but they can tell us what their location looks like. Then, it is up to us to put the pieces together.”

It is even more difficult, she noted, to find pets that have been snatched and taken off somewhere.

“The fear and worry of animals and their guardians can also distort information or cause it to be conveyed in non-sequential order.”

Aside from animal communication, Claudia has also studied canine psychology, animal homeopathy, asymya, http://www.asymya.com/learn.html dowsing, auricular therapy and Reiki. As well, she is experienced in working with dogs training for competition, protection of animals, tracking, agility and flyball, grooming, animal first aid and shelter work. As a teacher, she holds private or group sessions and in 1992, she opened Canada’s first official dog day care center.

Claudia, who is president of Dogs’ Paradise Inc., has appeared on a number of television shows including the Discovery Channel and has been interviewed for such publications as Animal Wellness magazine, The Globe and Mail and Toronto Life. As well, she has shared her expertise at events sponsored by the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) and Therapeutic Paws of Canada.

She is the author of If Only Animals Could Talk…, Dog Owner’s Pocket Guide of Commands and Breakfast, Dinner and Everything in Between.
