Aquatica, SeaWorld Orlando's water park, turned five years old on March 1, and it wasn't just the humans who turned out to celebrate. Several of the park's animal ambassadors were also on hand for the big day.
Aquatica is well known for its Commerson's dolphins, small marine mammals with coloring very similar to the orcas across the street at SeaWorld Orlando. It also has colorful, chatty macaws greeting guests each day, and you never know what other creatures you might encounter when you visit the park.
Click the slideshow at the top of this article to see which critters were out to help say "happy birthday" to the water park. A cute little kookaburra showed off his vocal talents for the crowd, and a baby gator and spoonbill also joined in the celebration. One of the macaws was even on hand to say hello and pose for pictures.
It's fun to see the animals, but of course the big draw at Aquatica is its many water slides, plus two wave pools, a lazy river, and a very unique rapids river. Little kids have their own play areas, too. Check out this article with a video overview of the park if you're not familiar with what it has to offer.
Aquatica is open all year 'round, temperature permitting. The water is heated, so it's fun even on chillier winter days (and less crowded, too).
