It is a fact that people who abuse animals are most likely to be abusing children. Animal abusers tend to become violent criminals, abusing animals is just the start of this behavior.
Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC) encourages residents to report incidences such as dog fights, beatings or other mistreatment like dogs left out tied with a short chain to their area police department.
MADACC has found that individuals who abuse animals and subsequently people need to dominate, instill fear and terror and degrade their victims.
The National Animal Cruelty Registry is an non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers and has no official funding. They investigate newspaper articles, court cases, etc. and information sent to them from people around the country.
Founded by the New Hampshire (NH) Governor's Commission for the Humane Treatment of Animals this organizations states, “To say nothing, to do nothing, stops nothing.”
Their goals are to provide information, help shelters identify animal abusers, to educate the public and encourage responsible animal treatment. They do this through their extensive database.
These organizations need help to continue to encourage the humane treatment of animals and subsequently protect populations from violent crimes.
