It is a well-known fact that many child abusers and human murderers begin by torturing animals. So would it not make complete sense that the father caught on video torturing the family cat by his 12-year old daughter would not be a form of child abuse?
Children feel especially connected to their pets – especially in certain circumstances like the fact that the animal suffers at the hands of a family member or that the child especially loves the pet because they may not receive the attention that they deserve from a parental figure so they rely on the pet instead. This is truly upsetting for the child when the supposed allegations are even worse off camera.
In this case, James Fiengo forcefully squeezed the head of Joey, the family cat while twisting a pulling the cat’s ear. Fiengo lived at 400 Airoso Boulevard in Port St. Lucie, Florida. There were other allegations, not just by Fiengo’s daughter, but his wife as well:
· Displaying the cat’ head being squeezed, and then the cat being placed upside down and having its head batted about;
· James picking up Joey by his tail and swinging him back-and-forth;
· James attempting to crack Joey’s tail ‘like a stick’;
· Joey being thrown across the room by James;
· James punching Joey in the stomach.
The cat is not the only animal being abused by this man, however. He also has been accused of abusing the family’s German Shepherd, Daisy, by sitting on her and biting her muzzle until she cries out in pain. Another disturbing factor is that the remnants of the abuse are constantly visible. Joey does not chew correctly and his little ear is deformed.
It seems as though every animal that the family ever had was injured in some way by this man. Previously two other cats had to be rehomed; one because its tail was broken by James Fiengo and one because it was knocked unconscious after being thrown against a wall in the family home.
One has to wonder how far he goes with his grotesque actions and his violent behavior. Are the rest of the family members safe from his destruction? He has supposedly threatened the child for her part in showing the videos that she recorded. The fear must be very disturbing to the little girl! Not only are the animals defenseless against this grown bully, but so is she and her mother! It has to be very scary indeed!
A restraining order has been filed, but who knows how far a bully like James Fiengo will go to save his own hide. The law should guarantee that both the cat, dog and family members be safe!
