Angry ex-wife drags man behind truck to teach him a lesson

Robert Hall was in the intensive surgical care unit after his ex-wife dragged the man behind a truck earlier this week. Jeannette Morris, Harold Anderson and Joan Hobart have been charged in the incident and face a variety of serious charges. WFTV shared the latest details on Jan. 9.

Jeanette Morris, 61, has an arrangement with her ex-husband Hall, 54, to share her home in Volusia County, Fla. while she is away to help her pay off a debt she owes him. The Samsula woman had contacted authorities as she was returning to town, because she had heard Hall's girlfriend also stayed at the house and she didn't want a confrontation. Tuesday afternoon Morris met a deputy at the house, where Hall appeared to be drunk. Morris said she would stay at her brother's house that night, but instead she stayed at the house along with Anderson and a third person and started drinking with Hall. Eventually that led to the ex-wife dragging the man behind a truck.

Reportedly later in the evening the three attacked Hall. They punched him, shocked him with a stun gun or cattle prod, put a gun to his head, and eventually tied him up and attached the rope to the rear bumper of a pick-up truck. The friends and ex-wife then dragged the man behind the pick-up truck. Anderson was allegedly overheard by Hall saying he didn't want to be a part of a murder, and the three allegedly talked about scalping Hall. The victim was eventually tossed into the back of the truck, and he managed to escape.

Robert Hall made it to a house in the area, and he was transported to the hospital. He was in just his underwear with twine rope around his neck, and he was quite bloody. Hall has bleeding in his brain, broken bones in his face, and a broken pelvis. Deputies found Jeannette Morris, and the ex-wife claimed she didn't know about the man being dragged behind the truck. However, she had dried blood on her hand and clothing. Anderson had bloodied knuckles and a swollen right hand, and he was carrying a gun. Anderson also had a shovel in his car.

Anderson and Morris have been charged with false imprisonment, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder. They are being held without bail, and Joan Hobart was arrested in connection with the attack Wednesday night. She is said to be the one who drove the truck, and she is facing the same charges as Morris and Anderson.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal notes that the Samsula woman has made claims since 2007 that Hall was violent with her. The two were married from 2007 to 2012, and she has claimed that he has threatened to kill her and previously punched and choked her. The trio has apparently said they concocted the scene to teach Hall a lesson for the abuse Morris endured. This bizarre incident has many shaking their heads, and followers will be interested to see what ends up happening to the ex-wife who dragged the man behind the pick-up truck, along with the two that helped her with the plan.
