Angry Birds aficionados are rejoicing at the latest news that NPR shared on March 15. Rovio, the creator of the popular slingshot game is creating a cartoon series that will begin this weekend. The three minute cartoons will be available after an app update on phones and other digital media that fans play the game.
The cartoon series will be available internationally with a new cartoon rolling out each week. So far, there are 52 cartoons ordered of the crazy birds that can't fly and the green pig thieves. The new app update that will allow Angry Bird fans to also watch the three minute shorts will cost 99 cents.
The cartoons are going to be similar to the game, with pigs stealing and hiding eggs and the oddly shaped birds flinging themselves all over the place to knock things down and retrieve their eggs.
Comcast Xfinity also plans to air the cartoons on their video-on-demand platform. Do you know an Angry Bird aficionado that will be excited for this cartoon series?
