Angie Johnson performed "God Bless America" during game five of the World Series in her hometown of St. Louis. The life long Cardinals fan headed to Twitter on Oct. 29, 2013 to say “Still floating from singing at the #WorldSeries” and attached a link so you could catch her performance of “God Bless America” if you missed it.
This was Johnson’s second time to have the honor of performing the song during the seventh inning stretch this season. Johnson said "It was an amazing thrill to sing 'God Bless America' during the season, but to be invited back to perform in Busch Stadium during the World Series is an absolute dream come true."
Johnson is also a Tech Sergeant in the Air National Guard in addition to being a rising country singer and former contestant on "The Voice." Johnson said her thanks on her Facebook page by posting “Finally just finished reading all the love on Twitter & Facebook.”
Johnson continued by adding “So teary right now seeing comments from friends from units I've served in, to restaurants I've worked in, to high school classmates, my family & fans from everywhere. So much love and support that I'm not worthy of, but am so grateful for. Thank you everyone, for being on this awesome ride with me!!!”
