Anger of the Gods is one of the newest "Theros" spoilers revealed today Sept. 12, 2013 from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set in an update to the card image gallery of www.DailyMTG.com. This rare red sorcery packs quite a punch, and can be a brutal main deck or sideboard card against an aggro deck.

Anger of the Gods - 1RR
Sorcery (Rare)
Anger of the Gods deals 3 damage to each creature. If a creature dealt damage this way would die this turn, exile it instead.
There was no reason to pray. This was already an act of the gods.

Anger of the Gods can be devastating when played a duel with a weenie deck, taking out their early mana producers like Sylvan Caryatid and Elvish Mystic. Anger of the Gods can't hit your opponent in the face like Slagstorm could, however it prevents many decks from achieving long-term card advantage by removing their resources. Because Anger of the Gods exiles, your adversary's late game Scavenging Ooze or Deathrite Shaman won't have as many creatures to target with their abilities. Anger of the Gods also stops your opponent's Xathrid Necromancer from triggering and replenishing their side of the battlefield when all their Humans are wiped out. So your opponent followed their first turn Firedrinker Satyr with a second turn Burning-Tree Emissary and Skarrg Guildmage? Thanks for the three-for-one.

Anger of the Gods gives red mages a viable way of dealing with creatures that have nasty dies abilities (we're looking at you, Voice of Resurgence). It also hoses creatures that can come back from graveyards like Gravecrawler or creatures with persist or undying such Geralf's Messenger and Strangleroot Geist.

Anger of the Gods looks like a fantastic addition to Izzet decks. It'll help you deal with the tokens created by Swan Song and Curse of the Swine. With creatures like Prognostic Sphinx and Mercurial Chemister that can survive Anger of the Gods, you'll be able to gain late-game card advantage.

How will you use Anger of the Gods?
