According to an April 26, 2014, report by Yahoo!Sports, the Big Ballpark in the Bronx, Yankee Stadium will be the site for this week’s edition of Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN. Tonight, it’ll be the New York Yankees hosting the LA Angels in the rubber match of a game that will be televised on big ESPN and streaming live on ESPN3 (online) and ESPN-Deportes (En Español).

First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. EST (7:05 p.m. CST/6:05 p.m. MST/5:05 p.m. PST) from Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y., and ESPN’s coverage begins with “Baseball Tonight: Sunday Night Countdown” an hour before the game. The pitching matchup for the finale is a dandy, as it features two undefeated aces going head-to-head under the bright lights.

For the visiting (11-12) LA Angels of Anaheim, longtime skipper Mike Scioscia sends RHP Garrett Richards (2-0, 2.52 ERA) to the mound to try and clinch the series from the pinstripes. An April 27, 2014, SI report illustrates how effective the former Oklahoma standout has been away from Angels Stadium.

Richards – who’s 0-2 with a 5.14 ERA versus the Yanks in his career – comes into tonight’s game with an ERA of 1.00 on the road in 2014, and could steal the spotlight away from the Yankees’ highly touted Japanese import. On the hill for the Bronx Bombers will be RHP Masahiro Tanaka (3-0, 2.15 ERA), who’s off to a perfect start to his MLB career.

Through four starts for Joe Girardi and the (14-10) New York Yankees, the 25-year-old from Itami, Japan, has tossed 29.1 innings, allowing 22 hits, 8 runs, 2 walks and 35 strikeouts. However, Tanaka is susceptible to the longball, evidenced by the fact that he’s already been taken deep four times, which accounts for most of the offense production against him.

If MLB oddsmakers at ESPN are correct, tonight’s series finale between the Yankees and the Angels will live up to the hype. Las Vegas latest money lines have New York as a -175 favorite versus Anaheim [+160] and the OVER/UNDER is set at a combined total of 8 runs.
