Anaheim Angels left-handed pitcher C.J. Wilson also has his own racing team. It is a successful race team at that and even with the baseball schedule C.J Wilson himself finds a way to be at race events.They came in second recently at the 12 hours of Sebring in their Mazda.
John Doonan, Director of Motorsports for Mazda North American said "CJ Wilson is among the newer teams, but they have quickly developed a solid operation that is winning in both MX-5 Cup and Continental Tire ST. CJ, as a person, is in for the longterm having also bought a Mazda dealership" CJ Wilson racing won seven races in 2013 and looks as good for 2014.
Wilson races for his charity to help children and young adults; the C.J. Wilson Children's charities. Northern California native and Formula drift driver Tyler McQuarrie is now a driver for CJ Wilson racing.
Their next event is the IMSA Continental Tire sportscar challenge near Monterey, CA at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca May 2nd and 3rd.
