Movie fans in Scottsdale don't have much longer to wait for the release of Angelina Jolie's first directorial effort, In the Land of Blood and Honey. The film, which is set for release later this month, is causing the actress some trouble though. On Saturday, Us Magazine reported that the actress is being sued over the film. In the Land of Blood and Honey tells the story of a Serbian man that fall in love with a Bosnian woman just before the 1992 Bosnian war hits. This is Jolie's first time behind the camera as a screenwriter and as a director. The film stars Goran Kostic and Zana Marjanovic as the couple torn apart by war.
The actress is being sued because a Croatian man, James J. Braddock, is accusing the woman of taking the plot of her film from an article he wrote back in 2007. Us Magazine reported that the court documents of the lawsuit state the following:
"The Subject Work's main female character is subject to continuous abuse and rape by soldiers and officers in the camp. In addition to being raped continuously by soldiers and officers, she is forced to become a servant at the camp headquarters, a duty assumed by very few of the captives. The Motion Picture’s main female character is also subject to continuous rape by soldiers and officers in the camp and subsequently becomes a servant at camp headquarters."
The man is suing for unspecified damages, and it is unknown at this time whether or not the lawsuit will impact the release of the film. This isn't the first time the production has faced problems. During filming, Jolie came under fire when it was misunderstood what her film plot was about. Bosnian women and war victims protested the film.
Fans are waiting to see Jolie's work on the big screen, and it has them talking on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:

In the Land of Blood and Honey is set for release to Scottsdale theaters on December 23.
