On August 10, 2013, actress Angelina Jolie surprised devoted fans when she made a special guest appearance at D23 (a Disney fan event covered by USA Today). She told an excited crowd that she was delighted to accept a job offer from Disney to play a wicked witch in the new movie "Maleficent." The only problem was that when she was in costume on the set her makeup was so terrifying that she scared off all the children who could have played the bit part of a young heroine. As a result, the producers and directors cast the only child not scared of Angie in full make up -- her darling young daughter Vivienne.
In a recent article posted on USA Today, the actress revealed, "Vivienne was the only 4-year-old who wouldn't scream." Proud of her daughter's role in the film as well as her own, Jolie says, "She and I got to be part of it together."
According to sources present at the event and quoted by the LA Times, the actress then introduced some footage from the film, including a scene of the quarrelsome pixies, a shot of Vivienne as Young Aurora running through a field, and Elle Fanning playing the grown-up princess, destined to fall under Maleficent's curse.
Vivienne is the fraternal twin sister of her brother Knox. With Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt both being so famous, the child star is poised to have a successful career in the movie business. The movie that is likely to launch her film career is her part in "Maleficent" -- a Disney spin on the classic tale of Sleeping Beauty.
Disney's fan event, aptly named D23, was an event the corporation held to highlight their upcoming movie projects through 2015. Jolie's appearance was a complete surprise to attendees. There is no word yet whether or not Brad Pitt was present behind the scenes but considering the size of her engagement ring, he is never far away from her memory.
The celebrity couple faced rumors that they secretly wed in the South of France at the end of 2012. However, the celebs shared that the reason Angie had gone off the grid was not for a honeymoon. In fact, she underwent a precautionary double mastectomy after learning that cancer genetically runs in her family.
"Maleficent" is scheduled to be in movie theaters in 2015. Hollywood rumor sources suggest Vivienne was paid a handsome $3000.00 per week to appear on film with her famous mommy.
