Today Wizards of the Coast revealed Angelic Skirmisher, a powerful new rare creature card from their upcoming expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set "Gatecrash."

At the beginning of each combat, choose first strike, vigilance, or lifelink. Creatures you control gain that ability until end of turn.

It's important to note that Angelic Skirmisher says each combat, meaning you can choose a different ability on you turn and on your opponent's turn. One strategy might be to pick vigilance on your turn so that you have plenty of blockers with first strike or lifelink.
Angelic Skirmisher transforms your Alms Beast into a horror for your opponents, and can be particularly nasty when combined with Vault of the Archangel.
Just imagine following up an Angelic Skirmisher with Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, gaining double the amount of life or dealing twice as much first strike damage to any blockers.
It doesn't matter what color your limited deck may be, the abilities that Angelic Skirmisher grant your creatures can have a warping effect on the game. That's reason enough to always first pick it or find a way to make it work in your deck.
