Before the race season even began, the West Palm Beach Motorsports Examiner wondered out loud, Will the Cope twins return to NASCAR in 2013? This question was answered on Tuesday, Mar.5, when Angela Cope announced via twitter that she will be competing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series History 300 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 25.
"Lookout NASCAR," stated an excited Angela Cope. "Especially Mr. Busch!"
Blonde bombshells Angela and her twin sister Amber Cope have been turning heads in the racing world ever since they first took to the track at nine years old. Under the wing of their uncle and Daytona 500 winner Derrike Cope, the sisters learned the professional racing business inside and out, competing in both the ARCA Re/Max Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
They became the first twins to race in the NASCAR Nationwide Series on May 22, 2011 in Newton, Iowa. In addition to competing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, the sisters also spend their days working on their clothing line and newly acquired hair salon.
Though the details of Angela Cope's return to the track have yet to be released, it would be a decent bet that she will be competing for SR2 Motorsports, in a car sponsored by Highland Wealth.
Cope seems to be confident about her return to NASCAR, and is ready to enjoy the sweet taste of success.
"Will you write about my victory?" Cope asked.
The West Palm Beach Motorsports Examiner will do his very best to keep on top of this still developing story, and looks forward to being able to inform the world of the impending win from Angela Cope in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.
I can see the headline now; Angela Cope wins at Charlotte Motor Speedway in a heated battle with Kyle Busch! The Orange Cone was uninjured.
