According to information made available on Sunday, December 18, 2011, a 31-year-old pregnant woman named Dee Lazarou was shocked to discover the image of an angel in her unborn baby's ultrasound. The ultrasound image was taken in in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, UK. Lazarou believes that it was this angel who protected her and her child during a very unusual delivery at home.
According to The Daily Mail, when Dee Lazarou went into labor she was already one week past her due date. Thinking that she had enough time for a bath, she settled into the bathroom before discovering that childbirth was closer than she thought. Lazarou called her husband Thomas and mother Marie. They both rushed home in time to help with the delivery. However, there were no medical personnel present.
Although the couple was worried about the unusual home birth on the floor of their bathroom, Dee Lazarou was comforted by the strange image of an angel she had seen on the baby's ultrasound. Even though the child was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, Thomas and Marie were able to safely deliver him with the help, perhaps, of the boy's guardian angel.
"When we saw the face of someone in the scan picture we were stunned, but now we know that it was for a reason. He was watching over Leo to make sure he was delivered safely. The face in the scan picture was such a comfort to us all."
Both mother and child were given a clean bill of health after being examined at a local hospital. As for the amazing angel image, the Lazarou family is keeping it in a box to tell baby Leo the story of how an angel may have saved his life during a home delivery.
This angelic image reported in the UK is not the first unusual sight to turn up in an ultrasound. The video on the left shows a very different image, a creepy face seen in a medical scan of a testicular tumor. Video of the angel ultrasound is not available at this time.
