Ange Green - gone yet never to be forgotten

Ange Lou Green lived to be 81 years young. “Mother Green” passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM w here she resided. A wake will be held at First Church of God in Christ Friday, February 21, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Central Baptist Church with Bishop J. L. Keith Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories 3600 W 7th. St., Clovis, NM 88101.

Ange was born August 18, 1932 to John Andrew and Nettie (Newman) Dawson in Roxton, TX. She married Bishop W. Charles Green June 24, 1951 in Clovis, NM. She worked 27 1/2 years as a school teacher at Highland Elementary. Ange was a member of First Church of God in Christ and served as an Evangelist, Co-Pastor, Dean of Education Director, Assistant Supervisor to the late Sylvia E. Jeffery State Supervisor of Women's Department of Church of God in Christ and she was a missionary to the Philippines. She was also a member of the Thursday Evening Lions Club and the National Education Association. Ange will be remembered as a prolific speaker and singer. She raised six children and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and shopping.

Survivors include: her husband, Bishop W. Charles Green of the home - three sons, Willie Charles Green Jr. of Clovis, NM; Lemuel Lewis Green and wife, Regin of Dallas, TX; and Wendell Bernard Green and wife Andrea of Farmington, NM. There remain three daughters: Katie Kathleen Parsons of Dallas, TX; Beverly Ann Howard and husband, Jacob of Coppell, TX; and Angela Yvette Clark and husband Craig, of Fort Worth, TX. Ange also had six sisters: Pauline Perkins, Charlene Perkins, Diane Ross, Katie Miller, Edna Pollard, and Shirley Goode - three brothers: John Dawson and wife Barbara; Jimmy Dawson and wife Cindy; and Joe Dawson - 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nettie Dawson; sister, Louise Dawson; nephew, Curtis Ross; and niece, Tabitha Dawson.
