Andy Samberg sure has a lot to celebrate about. E! News reported on Jan. 12 that he took home an award for Best Actor in a Comedy at the 2014 Golden Globes.

Samberg was shocked to receive the award. He said on stage, “Oh, no! I didn’t prepare anything, it wasn’t going to happen. Who knew?!” He then quickly gathered his thoughts and thanked a list of people he works with.

The actor won an award for his work as the smart-aleck detective on Fox’s breakout comedy hit “Brookly Nine-Nine”.

The little known show also won its very own award. It picked up an award for Best Television Series-Musical or Comedy. The announcement blew everyone away at the awards show and at home. Viewers displayed their shock on Twitter.

Samberg has also inked a multi-year deal alongside his Lonely Island mates. The deal is for a new alternative comedy venture that pushes Fox into non-traditional territory.

The trio will oversee the development of comedy products that will included in digital platforms like Hulu and Roku, according to the Hollywood Reporter. This could bring numerous series to the Century-Foxed owned stations like Fox, FX or FXX. Fox believes that The Lonely Island has the edginess and comedic genius to take risks.

Looks like it’s going to be Andy Samberg’s year.
