Former Saturday Night Live standout Andy Samberg went through a big change when he left the NBC show last year and can now add another huge life event to the list. On Saturday, Samberg tied the knot with girlfriend of five years Joanna Newsom in California.
People reports that the couple wed in Big Sur at the Post Ranch Inn. Samberg, 35, has been engaged to 31-year-old Newsom, who is a singer/songwriter/harpist, since February. The couple have never been especially public about their relationship and media members only became aware of the engagement when Newsom appeared at the Independent Spirit Awards that same month wearing a ring.
The Post Ranch Inn is a popular (and pricey) destination for rich and famous types, and Saturday's nuptials were no doubt star-studded. Justin Timberlake, Samberg's co-star in SNL's wildly popular "D--- In a Box" sketch from way back in 2006, and wife Jessica Biel were reportedly in attendance.
Samberg isn't the only SNL alum to get hitched recently: head writer and soon-to-be host of Late Night Seth Meyers married girlfriend Alexi Ashe over Labor Day weekend on Martha's Vineyard with Samberg present as a guest.
Meanwhile, Samberg made a much-anticipated return to television this week with the premiere of his Fox comedy Brooklyn Nine Nine. The first episode debuted on Sep. 17 to a "not too shabby" 6 million viewers in its 8:30 p.m. slot.
