On Jan. 6, Andy Cohen threw a Bravo wedding shower for NeNe Leakes from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” to celebrate her second engagement to her husband of 13 years, Greg Leakes. Cohen, the face of Bravo, hosted the bash on “Watch What Happens Live” and said excitedly to the couple, “It’s a new beginning!”
Cohen then presented the newly reengaged couple with wedding gifts that represented NeNe’s newfound success in Hollywood. The couple cracked up when Andy presented them with a cash-enhanced bra, matching G-string, garter and a cake topper. Leakes revealed that flamboyant event planner Dwight Eubanks from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” will not be planning her upcoming wedding. “I’m in a happy place and I’m floating,” NeNe added lovingly. The two lovebirds also fed each other a bite of wedding cake during their Bravo wedding shower.
True to tradition, NeNe Leakes played a game with Cohen while in the Bravo clubhouse on Sunday night. It was called “NeNe Year’s Resolutions.” Andy called out a name and NeNe said what she thought that person’s New Year’s resolutions should be. For Portia Stewart, NeNe answered, “Maybe to not be ding dong.” She said that Phaedra Parks should change her hair. When Andy asked about Kendra Davis, NeNe replied, “Don’t look for a man, let a man look for you.” Concerning Kim Zolciak’s resolutions, Leakes suggested, “Stop lying.”
Kim Zolciak is no longer a cast member of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” but is preparing for her own show on Bravo, which premieres in the spring, according to a tweet from Kim on Jan. 6. In the meantime, Kim and her daughters are planning to cheer on Kroy Biermann this weekend when the Atlanta Falcons take on the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the NFL playoffs.
Concerning Kim’s departure from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” NeNe Leakes told Andy Cohen, “The way Kim left the show is the way Kim left the show. She did that willingly. The mood definitely changed once Kim left the show. I feel like the girls get along so much better now that she’s gone.”
Andy Cohen ended the wedding shower with happy wishes and kind words for Greg. He said that he became a fan during the season one reunion show. “You were the voice of reason,” Cohen complimented Greg. He then congratulated the happy couple again and sent similar congratulations to Phaedra Parks and Jenni Pulos, who both recently announced their pregnancies.
New episodes of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” air on Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
