Andy Cohen is the central man during the housewives reunions, as he tries to keep the peace while asking the important questions. However, he is much more than the reunion mediator. He is also the one who is casting the women for the shows. According to a new Bravo blog published on Oct. 23, Andy Cohen is now revealing that he is actually a big part of the casting process for the housewives franchise.
Cohen is now revealing how big of a part he is in casting the new housewives on every show. "I am involved in all of it," he says. "We have a team...we work with the production company to go over submissions for Housewives." The production company may be scouting the cities for new housewives, but Andy is the one who selects the final choices for the shows.
"Typically, I'm at the forefront of trying to woo back formers to the show," he says. "If it's a terrible idea, people will say to me, 'It's a terrible idea.'" And it sounds like his plans for Orange County turned out to be shut down. "For Orange County, I always wanted to bring Lauri Peterson back but Lauri didn't want to come back,” he revealed, adding that she did come back on the show as a part-timer.
Are you surprised that Andy was the one who wanted Lauri to return?
