On April 20, the first episode of a 3-part reunion show starring “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” aired on Bravo and it caused quite a stir. As posted by E!online on Monday morning, the brawl that turned physical between Porsha Williams and Kenya Moore was shocking, even by “Real Housewives” standards.
After being taunted by a scepter and bullhorn, Williams snapped and went after Moore, dragging her to the floor. The ringmaster, Andy Cohen, pulled the two apart and sent Porsha home before taping was scheduled to end.
On Monday, Andy Cohen spoke out about the Porsha vs. Kenya fight. His recent twitter posts state that he simply didn’t foresee the argument escalating to violence. “I didn’t see that result coming,” Bravo Andy tweeted. He’s usually the voice of reason and the calm in the storm, but Cohen was baffled by the explosive fight and pleaded repeatedly for the women to stop fighting. Directly after the explosive “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reunion, Cohen hosted Phaedra Parks in the Bravo Clubhouse for an episode of “Watch What Happens Live.” During their interview, Phaedra revealed that she spoke to Porsha before the reunion and advised her to maintain her composure. She added that Kenya provokes people.
Well, Porsha didn’t listen to Phaedra’s words of wisdom and exploded in such rage that Andy Cohen asked her to leave the set after becoming violent with Kenya. To see Cohen interview Phaedra on “WWHL” and to hear her reaction to the catfight, head to this YouTube link.
According to the Huffington Post, Kenya Moore released a statement on Monday and said:
No matter how angry someone makes you feel by what they say to or about you, violence is never an option.
As posted by Hollywood Life, there’s a good chance that Williams will be fired due to her violent behavior during the reunion taping.
Fans are active on social media on Monday and speaking out both against and in defense of Porsha’s actions. What do you think? Is she to blame or did Kenya cross the line with her provoking scepter and taunting words?
Whatever side of the fence you sit on, one thing is for certain. Parts two and three of the reunion show of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” should be a non-stop thrill ride, that’s for sure. As proven by Teresa Giudice’s table-flipping incident, fans love controversy and Bravo executives love the resulting buzz, especially this close to May sweeps, which begins on Thursday.
