Each week during the high school sports season the High School Sports Examiner and the Eastern Maine Sports Blog will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations to Marc @ firstname.lastname@example.org.
When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. All stats for the week may not be included if they were not sent in with the nomination.
2013 Fall season- Week 2- September 9th- September 15th
Andrew Speed- Central- Soccer- The freshman scored three goals to help the Red Devils earn a 3-3 tie against Penquis. Had one goal in 3-0 win over Dexter. Had two goals and one assist in 4-1 victory over Mattanawcook.
The Red Devils have started their season unbeaten at 2-0-1.
Jonathan Santiago- MCI- Football- Rushed for 203 yards and five touchdowns on 17 carries in 46-0 win over Stearns.
Nate Robichaud- Dexter- Soccer- Recorded a hat trick in 5-1 victory over Searsport.
Cole Beal- Jonesport-Beals- Soccer- Scored four goals to lead the Royals in their season opening victory.
Hunter Law- Foxcroft- Football- Threw for 92 yards/1 touchdown and rushed for two touchdowns in 48-0 victory over Old Town.
Peter Boyer- Foxcroft- Football- Rushed for 125 and two touchdowns on 19 carries in 48-0 victory over Old Town.
Corey Bjornson- Foxcroft- Football- Rushed for 197 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries.
Brandon Danforth- Schenck- Soccer- Scored a hat trick in 4-0 victory over Katahdin.
Cameron Mowrer- Orono- Football- Rushed for 154 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries in 53-19 victory over Washington Academy.
Trevor Fogarty- Dexter- Football- Rushed for a touchdown, threw for a touchdown and had an interception in 21-7 win over John Bapst.
