No sooner have I learned of the latest film shooting with Andrew Scott than I find out it's already finished.
Thanks to a Tom Hardy fan who told me Locke is already wrapped after only a couple weeks or so. Must have been shot quickly due to the film's real-time format. It runs ninety minutes and as with '24' we are meant to see the story unfolding as it is happening. I haven't uncovered information as to how much Andrew's character figures into the story so I don't know how large his role is, but from the character's name - Donal - it sounds like he may be Irish.
Some interesting casting connections in Andrew's earlier work; the female lead is Olivia Colman who starred opposite Andrew in his recent Audio Drama Award-winning turn in 'Betrayal' for BBC Radio. Alice Lowe is listed in the cast, also. She played Andrew's girlfriend, Beth, in the much loved 'My Life in Film' back in 2004. Tom Hardy made his film debut in HBO's 'Band of Brothers' in 2001, which Andrew was in also, although they had no scenes together as they were in different episodes of the multi-segmented tv series.
Locke started shooting at the end of February in London and Hardy is already filming a movie in the U.S. called 'Animal Rescue.' Locke will be out in 2014.
