In less than 48 hours, this reporter will tell you how the cast lost their pants in the woods as I attend the press screening of the film, 'The Stag,' at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
This Sunday, September 8, 2013, along with other members of the press, and the film industry, we will have the exciting opportunity to get a sneak peek at what looks to be a hilarious voyage of discovery for metrosexual men on an outdoorsy bachelor party. The press gets to see the film first, as usual, prior to showing to festival-goers on Tuesday, September 10, the first of three screenings for the Irish comedy, the other two taking place on Thursday and Friday.
The Andrew Scott Examiner has also been offered the opportunity to conduct one-on-one (or one-on-two and one-on-six, as it were) interviews with the team at the press junket. The ASE is excited to pose questions in person in a lengthy dedicated slot. Rather than a red carpet walk - because there actually isn't going to be a "red carpet premiere" in that sense - the meeting is at a location specifically chosen for the purpose.
Here are some of the details, not revealing the location, of course, from my contact:
"We would be delighted to help put you together with the film team from THE STAG. the entire cast will be in attendance -- because the screening is at the ScotiaBank and there is no formal red carpet as such there, we have scheduled a junket day. We would be happy to schedule you in there, if that could work for you."
The first interview is scheduled to include the director and co-writer, John Butler, along with Peter McDonald, co-writer and co-star of the film. The second interview will include the cast of the film - Andrew Scott, Hugh O' Conor, Amy Huberman, Andrew Bennett, Michael Legge and Brian Gleeson. The interviews will be recorded and made available for viewing through this column.
'The Stag' is listed in the Discovery area of the festival as a film from "one of the directors to watch." Looking forward to it, to be sure.
