February 5, 2010 - (Slideshow) Andrew Munsell is only 15, and some say he just might be the next Bill Gates given what he’s already accomplished at such a young age – by age 10 he learned HTML code and created websites, by age 13 he was creating software, and by age 15 he had already created about 10 apps.
He’s very computer savvy. In exclusive interviews with both Andrew and his mom, Katrina, Examiner learned what Andrew has accomplished so far and where he may be headed in his future.
Now, in an exclusive interview with Andrew's high school business advisor we learn a few new things that she's observed.
Morgan Purvis, Woodinville High School Business Education, FBLA Advisor , said she’s known Andrew since the beginning of the year. “I had never had the opportunity to sit down and talk with him one-on-one until recently since I don’t have him in my class,” she said.
She said the capacity she’s worked with Andrew is as a member of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). “I advise the WHS FBLA chapter and he is currently signed up to compete in the Website Development and E-business competition at the regional level.”
When asked if there is anything about Andrew that stands out, Morgan said, “He is very humble about his accomplishments and talents.”
We learned from Andrew and Katrina that he is interested in the medical field. Morgan said, “At Woodinville High School I serve the student body not only as a teacher and advisor, but also as a Career Counselor so I see a lot of students who come in and have a passion for an area of study.”
She continued, “ It seems that Andrew truly has a passion for helping people and combined with his interest in the medical field, I do think that he is headed in a direction that best suits him.“
Asked what she enjoys most about Andrew, Morgan said, “There are few students who are as humble and polite as Andrew. It is a rare quality found in students so young. He is extremely well poised, spoken, and polite for a sophomore in high school.”
