Bruce Ambler Boucher, an architectural historian and director of the University of Virginia Art Museum, will present "Andrea Palladio and His World" at the Charleston Library Society, 164 King Street on Thursday, November 4, at 6:00 PM.
Boucher is an expert on Palladio, who reintroduced the world to the classical Roman principles of architecture and had a profound influence on Western Architecture, particularly architecture in the New World. Boucher is a prolific author whose works include Andrea Palladio: The Architect in His Time. The lecture is being presented in conjunction with Drayton Hall, one of the oldest and most important examples of Palladian architecture in America.
