Former middle school teacher, Andrea Cardosa, was arrested on a $5 million warrant in Perris, Calif. on Feb. 3, 2014, after being charged with sexual assault, according to KABC 7.
Cardosa was charged with “16 felony counts of aggravated sexual assault on a child under the age of 14, lewd acts on a child under the age of 14, and lewd acts on a child 14 or 15 years of age…” reports KABC.
An investigation reportedly began into Cardosa after a link to a YouTube video of a young woman claiming she was abused by the educator was sent to the Alhambra Unified School District, where Cardosa worked as an assistant principal, the report says.
According to the Epoch Times, the YouTube footage shows the woman, Jamie Carillo, now 28, making a phone call to Cardosa to confront her about the alleged abuse she claims began when she was just 12-years-old and a student at Chemawa Middle School in Riverside, Calif.
A second victim has subsequently come forward claiming Cardosa molested her in 2010. The woman, now 18, said she was only 14 when the abuse took place, reports KABC
