Anderson Cooper’s audience on Anderson dressed up in some unique Halloween costumes, but it was the host himself that shared a great look and tribute to an amazing TV host on Monday. Walking down the stairs, the costumed Anderson Cooper was a blast from the past as he looked and portrayed the same mannerisms as Phil Donahue. Shockingly similar and quite delightful, the startling moment had those just tuning into the show giving the screen a double take.
"Happy Halloween everyone. Today is our big Halloween Special. I'm Phil Donahue," said Anderson Cooper. While few minutes later he let everyone in on the real issue that it was not really Phil but a great costume (in case the audience couldn't tell.)
While Anderson was paying tribute to one of the all-time greats of the talk shows, the bigger surprise was when Phil Donahue arrived in the studio and stood next to Anderson. Looking like himself, standing side-by-side, it was almost as though one was a wax image from the museums as the comparison was so intense.
Take a look at Anderson Cooper as Phil Donahue on the Anderson show in the video clip. Without Phil Donahue paving the way in daytime television, there wouldn't be shows like the Anderson Show and The Rosie Show, making it an extra special tribute.
