…and the people wanted a king...

See also

Americans, like the ancient Israelites, wanted a king like other nations.

Israel wanted something other than what God provided, and rebelled against the Lord. The prophet Samuel tried to talk sense to them, but they rebelled in the face of Wisdom. God relented, and Israel got the disastrous reign of King Saul, with all his moodiness and treachery. Likewise, America ignored the Wisdom of two centuries of Judaeo-Christian tradition, two centuries of Constitutional Wisdom in the founding fathers, not to mention Catholic-Americans, who forgot two millennia of Catholic Wisdom, in, twice, inaugurating the disastrous reign of King Obama, with all his rhetoric and treachery.

As in the past the people rejected the King of Glory, preferring the king of pomp.

"Samuel was displeased when they asked for a king to judge them. He prayed to the LORD, however, who said in answer: 'Grant the people’s every request. It is not you they reject, they are rejecting me as their king.'” 1 Samuel 8:4-7, 10-22

Be careful what you pray for…you just might get it!

Americans, and shamefully also Catholic Americans, have rejected the King of Glory and have preferred, twice, the king of rhetoric, the king of pomp, the king of deception, the king of class warfare, the king of economic redistribution (robbery), the king who unravels the Constitution, and the king who is no friend of the Church, the family, the traditionally married, and the unborn.

American Catholics clearly knew that…twice!

"Blessed the people who know the joyful shout;
in the light of your countenance, O LORD, they walk.
At your name they rejoice all the day,
and through your justice they are exalted
." Psalm 89:16-19

King Obama reigns in the hearts and minds of those Americans, and cafeteria Catholics, who seek immediate gratification. In effect, they are seeking to build a utopia, a new tower of Babel. They have wholeheartedly rejected the virtue of patience, and the grace of faith, and decided against the Kingdom of God, inaugurated in the patient, and persevering, Blood of the Crucified Jesus.

Yet, a remnant of faithful Catholic Americans have persevered in the grace of the One True King.

"'Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, pick up your mat and walk’? But that you may know
that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on earth'–he said to the paralytic, 'I say to you, rise, pick up your mat, and go home.' He rose, picked up his mat at once, and went away in the sight of everyone
." Mark 2:1-12

Catholic American's who voted for King Obama have long given up on caring if their 'sins are forgiven.' Sacramental confession, and obeying the Apostolic Teaching Authority of the Bishops (and Pope), are long gone Catholic phenomena in America. The King of Glory, hanging on His Cross, perpetuated in the Eucharist, has been replaced by the King of blathering b.s., and political correctness.

Sadly, that's alright with them.

All we, the remnant, can do, is pray for America, and live authentic Catholic lives…and vote the current King, and his band of court jesters, out of existence.
