March 3 - Losing isn't all bad at the Oscars! The contents of the "consolation prize" for Oscar nominees in the major categories who don't win an Academy Award on Sunday night was announced yesterday by the marketing company, Distinctive Assets.

For those nominees in the categories of Best Actor/Actress, Best Supporting Actor/Actress and Best Director who don't go home with the Oscar trophy, they will go home instead with a massive gift basket featuring over $85,000 worth of gifts. The Oscar winners will not receive these baskets.

The most expensive prizes in the gift basket feature luxury vacations including an African safari in South Africa provided by Premier Tours (valued at $45,000), a seaside suite at the Monte Carlo Beach Hotel in Monaco (valued at $14,500). a private island vacation at the Turks and Caicos Sporting Club, and a three-day getaway to Winvian Luxury Hotel in Connecticut (valued at $7,000).

Other gifts include a $4,000 limited edition luxury Leather Travel Bag from Victorinox, the iFLY indoor skydiving experience, WooLoot waterproof tourmaline sport watches, the Oral-B Pulsonic slim & sleek electric toothbrush and the book The Fifth Agreement by don Miguel Ruiz.

Winning an Academy Award may be priceless, but, this year, losing may be more enjoyable.
