It’s been nine years since Will Ferrell’s highly inappropriate 1970’s newscaster Ron Burgundy hit movie screens in “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” The broad comedy earned a solid fan base, came in at number 30 on 2004’s box office earnings report and has now spawned a sequel. “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” will hit movie screens on December 18. However, fans who want to catch it early may do so with the purchase of a Superticket.
The Superticket is a special offer at 58 participating AMC theatres. Roanoke Ron Burgundy fans can take advantage of the offer in nearby Charlotte, NC. The price of the Superticket is $33.00 and it includes a ticket to a December 16 advance screening, a digital download of “Wake Up Ron Burgundy” (an alternate version of the first film), a preorder for the DVD and Blu-ray release of “Anchorman 2” and a $5.00 concession card. The ticket may be purchased at fandango.com. You can also see Ron Burgundy himself explain it in the attached video.
“Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” reunites Ferrell with the first film’s co-writer and director Adam McKay and fellow cast members Christina Applegate, Steve Carell and Paul Rudd. Also joining the cast of this highly publicized sequel are Kristen Wiig, Jim Carrey and a host of big name Hollywood stars both young and old. The action switches from 1970's San Diego to New York during the 1980’s with a 24-hour news network preparing to launch.
