On Dec. 30, 2013, Paramount Pictures announced that it has partnered with Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas to offer Anchorfan Pass, a special movie pass that will allow moviegoers to attend unlimited showings of "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" through the movie's run of engagement at Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas.
The Anchorfan Pass (which is $15 each) went on sale on Dec. 30, 2013, and gives moviegoers admittance to "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" on the date of purchase and unlimited shows beginning January 1, 2014.
The Anchorfan Pass is valid at the following Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas locations:
- San Antonio
- Austin, Texas
- New Braunfels, Texas
- Kalamazoo, Mich.
- Winchester, Va.
- Kansas City, Mo.
- Ashburn, Va.
- Yonkers, N.Y.
Anchorfan Pass can be purchased at box offices of these theaters or at the Alamo Drafthouse website.
"Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" is the sequel to 2004's "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy."
"Anchorman 2" opened on Dec. 18, 2013 in the U.S. and Canada. According to Box Office Mojo, the movie took in $26.8 million at the box office in its opening weekend, and debuted at No. 2, behind "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug."
"Anchorman 2" has gotten mostly positive reviews and currently has a 74 percent approval rating at Rotten Tomatoes, a website that compiles reviews from movie critics.
As previously reported, Paramount teamed up with AMC theaters for an Anchorman 2 SuperTicket which included a ticket to see the movie at participating AMC Theaters two days before it opened nationwide; a digital download of "Anchorman — Wake Up Ron Burgundy: The Lost Movie"; a digital download of "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues"; and an AMC $5 concession bonus card.
