The quintessential San Francisco Beer is shaking things up as we head into Beer Week.
While everyone is familiar with their flagship Anchor Steam, as well as their seasonal offerings, Anchor has announced two new beers for us to enjoy.
Make sure to get a taste of Anchor's stout, Flying Cloud, during SF Beer Week as this offering won't last forever. Flying Cloud is the latest in their Zymaster series (limited and draught only), so once it's gone - you're out of luck.
Anchor describes their Zymaster series as such:
"Our Zymaster Series is a unique series of beers from Anchor Brewing, rooted in its exceptional respect for the ancient art and noble traditions of brewing, featuring extraordinary ingredients, innovative techniques, and unusual flavors."
Anchor's latest announcement is a new, permanent, beer...a California lager.
While I generally prefer ales to lagers, I'll give Anchor the benefit of the doubt until I try it.
This year round beer originally started as a the first in the Zymaster series, but will now be available in bottles. The beer is 4.9% ABV and, perhaps the coolest aspect of it, a portion of the proceeds will go to supporting the California State Parks Foundation.
