This is the 18th article in the project, 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks.

Jose Cayetano Albino Pena is a maternal third great-grandfather. He was baptized December 26, 1787 in Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico at Inmaculada Concepcion Catholic Church. His parents were Juan Jose Pena and Maria Margarita Salinas. Jose Cayetano was part of a large family. He was the eighth of 11 children.

There is no information about Jose Cayetano before his first marriage in 1809 to Maria Juliana Salinas. It is not known how long they were married or if they had children.

His place in family history as a maternal third great-grandfather came with his second marriage, at age 49, to Maria Anastacia Ysaguirre June 7, 1837 in Mier. No one is sure how old Maria Anastacia was when they were married. He and Maria Anastacia had five children between 1838 and 1844.

While there are no records, family tradition says Jose Cayetano died in Mier in 1845.
