Anberlin announce disbandment and final album and tour in 2014

Anberlin recently announced that they would be on the entire 2014 Warped Tour. And then shortly after that announcement they released a video that announced their final album and the impending disbanding.

Sadly after 11 years of touring and producing albums and music the band are disbanding. They have toured the world and touched countless lives through the power of music. And while this news is sad and many fans are upset, the band feels it is the right thing to do and the right time. As stated in the video they don't want to fade out, they don't want to keep going until they hate each other, they want to celebrate the time they have had together as a band and go out with a bang.

On the positive side many North American fans will be able to catch them on Warped Tour at least. The final tour has not been fully planned and no dates have been announced for it as of yet. But the announcement of Warped Tour means that at least 42 dates touching as many states as possible are guaranteed and if you have ever been to Warped Tour you know that those shows are always intense but add the emotion of being on the final stretch of a band's existence and you are sure to create one of the best sets and have some of the most powerful energy put into each and every one of those stops.

I look forward to seeing what the future holds for the band, the new album and all of these final shows throughout the year. Share your favorite Anberlin moment, memory, or song below in the comments.

I'll start it off. The 2nd show I ever attended in my entire life was an Anberlin show. They were on tour with Bayside, Meg & Dia and Jonezetta. That show was a turning point in my music career. From that moment on I knew I wanted to attend as many shows as I could and do anything I could to help support the music scene. Since that time I became a music journalist, and have met and interviewed a large number of artists and well as photographed a ton of shows.
