Analysis: Georgia vs. Nebraska - Gator Bowl Gator Bowl logo Gator Bowl logo

Here is my fourth of 10 previews and predictions on the SEC bowl games in college football this season including the BCS National Championship. Gator Bowl
#22 Georgia (8-4) vs. Nebraska (8-4)
Jan. 1 / Noon / ESPN2
Everbank Field (77,511) / Jacksonville, Fla.
Series History: Tied, 1-1
Last Meeting: Georgia, 45-31 (2013 Capital One Bowl)
VegasInsider Point Spread: Georgia -9

Vinny’s Vibe: These are two of the top six teams in the country in bowl appearances. Nebraska gets QB Tommy Armstrong Jr. back. Can Nebraska be balanced on offense and get the ball to WR Kenny Bell? RB Ameer Abdullah is a great back but they’ll more than him in this game. Nebraska is one of the worst teams in the country (118th) in turnover margin. That won’t fly against a quality SEC team. Georgia is without record-setting QB Aaron Murray. Hutson Mason starts his second game. Georgia’s back-ups that have been forced into greater roles due to the rash of injuries have played enough football to be solid and make plays. Todd Gurley Jr. may not be 100% yet but he’ll make a difference in the game. Look for terrific TE Arthur Lynch to have a big day in a Georgia win.

Georgia 35 Nebraska 24
