Iconic Venezuelan fashion design Carolina Herrera showed her Autumn/Winter 2014 collection during New York Fashion Week at Lincoln Center. Carolina Herrera was born in Venezuela to a lineage that spans back over 500 years to the 1500’s, talk about staying true to your roots! Just like her family, Herrera stayed true to her fashion roots by delivering her signature style of ladylike refined elegance with a show worthy of standing ovation.

The standouts for this collection were the prints, masterfully done and spotlight stealing to be sure! Created from combinations of burnt orange and cobalt, to classic black and white with a mix of combinations pulled from the rest of the collections’ colors, including gray and barely-there yellow, these prints are ah-mazing!

Inspired by a classic look reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn and former first lady Jackie-O, pill box hats and 50’s style silhouettes made an appearance this season. Bringing back the sense of a time when simple elegance reigned over audacious outfits. Thank you Carolina for this exquisite collection of pure femininity and understated sensuality, the fashion world needs more collections like this.
