An intimate evening with Los Lobos’ David Hidalgo and Louie Perez - June 4

May 17, 2011 - A special introduction by Cheech Marin has now been added to this event.  There will also be a limited edition silkscreen commemorative poster created by Louie Perez and produced in collaboration with selfhelpgraphics.com available for purchase.

Apr 22, 2011 – About…Productions announces a benefit concert and the premiere of Stories and Songs in Los Angeles, with Los Lobos’ songwriting team David Hidalgo and Louie Perez, on Saturday June 4 at the Los Angeles Theatre Center.  The event will fundraise for the upcoming theater work Evangeline, The Queen of Make-Believe, and its related educational programs for at-greatest-risk youth.

Hidalgo and Perez have been performing their Stories and Songs around the country, but this will be the first time in Los Angeles.  The show is a look back on 40 years of music making, from the time they would write songs together as teenagers (even before Los Lobos) to the present.  The event will also give the audience a chance to preview Perez’s collaboration in Evangeline, the play that got its title precisely from an early Hidalgo and Perez’s hit, and which will debut in 2012.
