The American Tea Masters Association is sponsoring a 2-day Tea Extravaganza 2009 at Chicago's Drake Hotel, August 10-11, 2009. This tea tasting (aka "cupping") will feature several high-end teas, along with a keynote address by Peter Reding, author of Positively Brilliant Self-Mastery, on "Personal Mastery".
The tasting will be led by Chas Kroll, Executive Director of the American Tea Masters association. The cost for the two day event is $120 per person, with the option of purchasing two tickets for $200, or a private table for eight persons and a "Tea Master" for $800. The tastings will take place between 9am and 1pm each day. Neither the Drake Hotel nor American Tea Masters will be selling teas to participants.
(Attendees will also have the option of attending a private luncheon and/or afternoon tea at the Drake: These events are not included in the ticket price, and should be booked directly with Shaun Rajah, Palm Court Special Events Manager at (312) 932-4619.)
Teas to be cupped at the event include a 1949 Cave-Aged Private Reserve Pu-erh, Cha Wang Tai Ping Hou Kui (Tea King Monkey Chief), and a Dong Fang Mei Ren (Oriental Beauty).
