An Evening of Amor with Dinner Lab and LA's Top Chefs

For the first time ever, on Thursday, August 14th, Dinner Lab, the members-only popup dining series, will open its doors to the public for Chef Francisco Guzman’s With Love to Mexico event. Chef Guzman and Dinner Lab have combined culinary forces to host a public charity dinner designed to bring awareness to the ongoing violence caused by drug cartels in Guzman’s homeland of Michoacán, Mexico.

The evening’s menu will feature some of LA’s best chefs from around the city, who will come together to prepare traditional dishes from the 6 most affected regions, with their own unique touch. The menu will include:

Yuctan Meridia

Gilberto Cetina from Chichen Itza

Tacos de Pulpo: braised octopus, calamari ink sauce, pickled chiles, handmade tortilla

Oaxaca

Matt Dhillon from Factoria Del Vicario Culinary Institute

Masa Harina Empanada de Pollo with aguacate crema, smoked queso, asaderoa

Nayarit

Phillip Frankland Lee from Scratch Bar

Oyster Zarandeado with preserved papaya, smoked sugar cane, ancho chilli

Morelia Michoacan

Francisco Guzman from Scratch Bar

Uchepo with chorizo carmel, jocoque, raja mostrada

Jalisco

Jason Fullilove from Malibu Pier Restaurant

Love Braised Birria with crispy red rice cake, grilled corn purée, pickled red onions

Puebla

Mole Panna Cotta with cured pineapple, chapulin brittle

Tickets are open to the public for $75, and proceeds from the night will be donated to Mexico Unido.
