An eternal home

“All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls off, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” 1 Peter 1:24

This verse makes you realize how fleeting our human lives on this earth are. The earth that we live on and all that covers it, from the flowers of the field to the mountains to our human flesh, are but temporary. For we know that if we belong to Christ our eternal home is in heaven with Him.

By placing our faith and trust in the Lord we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we have an ever-lasting home with Him. We know that the flesh will never last but God and His word will stand forever. When it seems like our world is falling apart we can have an absolute peace in knowing that God has already prepared a permanent home for us. A home that is not built upon temporary things, such as earthly treasures or human possessions, but an eternal home built upon the word of the Lord, which we know endures forever.

The definition of permanent is without beginning or end, always the same, unchanging. The Lord says He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end; He remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. He will never change. Remember that no matter what the day brings in this temporary life, as a follower of Christ you have a permanent home awaiting you.
